This is the most important step in career planning. You need to know and assess yourself. You need to collect information about yourself while deciding about a particular career option.You must analyze your interests, abilities, aptitudes, desired lifestyle, and personal traits and then study the relationship between the career opted for and self.

Goal Setting

Set your goals according to your academic qualification, work experience, priorities and expectations in life. Once the goals are identified, then only you would be able to determine the feasible ways and objectives how to realize it.

One also required to narrow ones general occupational direction by an informatory decision making process. One would definitely need to think about the career options by keeping in mind the educational qualification and what more academic degrees would be needed to acquire for it.
